Houstonian Shannon Fish Announces Hurricane Harvey Fundraising Effort at Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge

Symetra Tour and local tournament committee will match donation to help those in need

SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA, August 29, 2017 – Symetra Tour professional Shannon Fish, a Houston native, announced on Monday night that she is fundraising to help Hurricane Harvey relief and recovery efforts. She is donating $100 per birdie and $500 per eagle she makes at the Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge to Team Rubicon, an organization of experienced military veterans on the front line of the emergency response efforts. The Symetra Tour and the Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge tournament committee have decided to match the donation that Fish makes.

The Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge will begin on Thursday, August 31 and continue through SundaySeptember 3

“I’m proud of Texans and Houstonians coming together in such a time of devastation to help their neighbors in need,” said Fish, who played amateur golf and college golf in the state. “We will rebuild and recover stronger than ever. My prayers this week and going forward will be with my hometown, its residents, first responders, volunteers and folks coming from all around for their strength and safety.” There are five players in the Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge that call Houston home: Raegan Bremer, Shannon Fish, Jayde Panos, Chirapat Jao-Javanil and Portland Rosen.

“We simply wanted to show our support for our Symetra Tour professionals that call that area home,” said Chief Business Officer Mike Nichols. “The Tour travels all over the country for eight months out of the year and we consider the players an extended part of our LPGA family. We applaud Shannon for using her platform to help in a time of great need.”

Fish has played on Tour since 2012 and has seven career top 10 finishes. To learn more about Team Rubicon and to find out how you can donate to the relief efforts, visit teamrubiconusa.org.
